Ricky Saints is set to make a significant impact at NXT No Mercy 2025, following his standout performance at Heatwave. This marks his first main-event match in a premium live event since joining WWE, with a championship title on the line.
The episode of WWE NXT aired on August 26, featuring Josh Briggs interrupting Saints' promo. The NXT General Manager, Ava, announced a number-one contender’s match for later that evening. In a competitive bout, Saints triumphed over Briggs with a tornado DDT, securing his spot in the NXT No Mercy 2025 lineup.
Post-match, Saints confronted Oba Femi, who accused him of showing fear. The situation escalated when the faction DarkState attacked both wrestlers, prompting Hank & Tank to intervene. This led to the announcement of an eight-man tag team match for the following week’s NXT episode.
At Heatwave, GM Ava also revealed that the Men’s and Women’s WWE Speed Championships will be introduced to NXT. Sol Ruca, the current holder of the WWE Women’s Speed Championship and the NXT Women’s North American Championship, will defend her title against the winner of an upcoming tournament at NXT No Mercy 2025.
Cory Hays from Bodyslam.net reported that the tournament will feature talents such as Candice LeRae (SmackDown), Lainey Reid (NXT), Faby Apache (AAA), and Xia Brookside (TNA). The first match of the tournament, LeRae vs. Brookside, is scheduled for next week’s NXT.
